![]() As we start to unravel who Eleanor's is and what she has been through, her perspective becomes even more powerful and I love that the focus remains on her. Instead of seeing her through Raymond's eyes, we get to watch the world solely through hers.and it can be both hilarious and heartbreaking at times. ![]() I'm normally a fan of multiple perspectives, but this was an instance where I thought it was great that we were only given Eleanor's point of view. Everything she thinks and says absolutely makes sense and she made me question things that I simply take for granted.Ĭlearly I loved the way this book was written. I absolutely loved reading her view on simple things like why it's socially acceptable to show up late to a party, but not actually on time. ![]() She is abrupt, to the point and has a hard time understanding many of the social queues the rest of us take for granted. When Eleanor gets her first Brazilian wax (she goes for the Hollywood style - uh-oh) and sees what has become of her private area, her comments to the aesthetician about her love interest not being a pedophile had me bursting into laughter. I was literally laughing out loud while reading to this book. ![]() Although I found the beginning of the book to be a bit slow, I ended up flying through it as I fell in love with Eleanor and her quirks. This book has been on my TBR list for years (it came out in 2017!) and comes highly recommended from friends, so I was thrilled when my book club agreed to read it this month. ![]()
